I need to clean a blender under the blades, it is disgusting!
I don’t know if they blades are removable, so are there any tips on making that dirt really loose and come up easily?

Soak in hot soapy water, then take a tooth brush to it, rinse well.:)
OH my Lordy child! You have GOT to read the manual and figure out how to remove the blades to clean it.
My blades are removable, not sure if you have the KitchenAid Blender? They are removable, if not put some dishsoap in the pitcher with some hot water and spin it on the highest speed (make sure to have the top on!) for awhile (don’t burn the motor out though) Hopefully, you’ll get the grime out. Scrubbing can help afterwards too.
This is what I came up with:
Ensure that the blender jug is sitting in the base properly before proceeding. It is easy to forget to screw it back together properly after use.
Add warm water to halfway.
Add one to two drops of dishwashing liquid; if you have a lemon, put in half a lemon, as the lemon rind will scrape off any particles and the juice and rind will eliminate odors.
Plug the blender back into the electrical socket, or switch the powerpoint on.
Place the lid on the blender.
Press the low blend button and allow to blend for up to 30 seconds.
Check that it has caught all the particles.
Pour the liquid down the sink.
Rinse under the faucet. Use cold water.
Place upside down on a dish drying rack to air dry. Wipe down the base with a damp cloth and allow to air dry.
Tips:
Ensure that the entire appliance is dry before storage.
It is always a good idea to wipe the base and wash the jug as quickly as possible after use to avoid hardening and drying of the food or liquid items. This makes it much harder to clean.
Warning:
Make sure the spout is closed when you are blending the cleaning liquid.
Take care to remove the cord from the power socket before wiping down the base with a damp cloth.
Take care when handling the blender blades.
Clean your blender immediately after you use it. Then ,fill up half of the blender with warm water and run it .You can also add a little dish cleaning liquid to it. That looses any stuck -up particles. If you think there are still more stuck -up particles , pour off the old water and repeat the procedure.
In case, it has been some time and particles have hardened and settled, pour warm water and let the particles soak for some time ,see if they’ve loosened, then use the above method.
Hope this helps !
I just put mine in the dishwasher.
Check at the base of the blender-and see if the base screws off. If it does, then the rubber ring and blade disk should come out with ease.
No matter what, please soak these items in hot soapy (dish soap) water for at least 15 min. If the blade disk comes out of the base of the blender, then it will be easier to clean. However, if it does not, do you have an old toothbrush that you could use to clean it with?
The idea I have in mind is to use the toothbrush bristles to clean around/underneath the blades. Even if the blade disk does come out with ease.
In using the toothbrush, you may want to put a little extra dish soap on the bristles to help scrub the blades clean.
Then, rinse well, dry, and if the blender comes apart at the base, once all parts are dry, then reassemble.
Take care.
you can do a quick clean, put some hot tap water with a bit of dish soap in it, and after putting the top on turn the blender on for a few seconds. Also the base should come right off the bottom of the blender, and the blades right out. Be careful as there may be a rubber seal there too. take that off and pop everything in the top shelf of the dishwasher.
